Microwave potato omelette with onion recipe

Ingredients to make potato omelette with onion in the microwave:

  • 2 pieces of large potatoes
  • ½ piece of Onion
  • 1 piece of Leek
  • 5 units of Eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to make potato omelette with onion in the microwave:

Step NO 1

In order to prepare this potato and onion omelette, the first thing we do is find a microwave-safe container. Once achieved, we proceed to finely chop the onion and leek , and cut the potatoes into squares or thin slices. Keep in mind that for the cooking of the potatoes in the microwave to be even, the important thing is to cut them without obtaining very thick pieces.

Now we will cook the potatoes with the onion and the leek in the microwave for three minutes. After this time, we will remove the container, move the ingredients and return it to the microwave for three more minutes. We repeat this process until the potatoes are cooked. With my microwave I had to put them in four times, 12 minutes in total.

Tip: If you don’t mind adding oil to the recipe, you can spray the potatoes with a splash of olive oil to make them juicier.

While the potatoes are cooking in the microwave, we take the opportunity to beat the eggs with a pinch of salt to taste. Likewise, we put a deep and non-stick frying pan with a jet of oil to heat when the potatoes are almost ready.

When we see that the potatoes, onion and leek are ready, add the beaten egg and mix well. Depending on the size of the potatoes you will need to add more or less eggs. In this way, if the potatoes are medium in size, with four eggs you will have enough, while if they are larger you should choose to use five.

Pour the potato and egg mixture into the hot pan to cook the Spanish omelette .

We leave it for a few minutes and turn it over with a plate the size of an omelette. You will need to be very careful and turn it quickly to prevent the preparation from spilling out of the pan. Use a wooden spoon to place the potato omelette well and give it a rounded shape.

Cook the potato and onion omelette until the desired doneness is reached. If we want it to be more curdled, we will leave it longer and we can even turn it over again, while if we want it to be a little more raw, we can remove it when it is golden on both sides.
