Gougères are typical French cheese fritters , especially from the Burgundy region where they are usually prepared with Gruyere or Comté cheese. This time let’s prepare the Gougères with Parmesan cheese . An easy and delicious recipe.
Ingredients to make Gougères:
- 2 units of Egg
- 370 milliliters of Water
- 75 grams of Parmesan cheese
- 75 grams of Flour
- 40 grams of Butter
- 1 pinch of Nutmeg
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of Pepper
How to make Gougères:
Step NO 1
The first step in preparing the French gougères will be to boil the water in a saucepan along with the butter and a pinch of salt.
Step NO 2
When it breaks the boil we must add all the flour and immediately mix and bring to the fire for another minute, over low heat, without stopping stirring. This process must be done quickly so that all the ingredients are correctly integrated and prevent lumps from forming.
Step NO 3
Next, let the mixture cool for a few minutes and add the eggs one by one, mixing and integrating gently. Also add the nutmeg and if you want a point of salt and pepper.
Step NO 4
To finish the preparation of the French gougères, add the Parmesan cheese to the mixture and stir very well. It is important that the cheese is spread evenly, so stir thoroughly.
Step NO 5
Prepare a baking tray with waxed paper and place small portions of dough leaving a separation of about 5-7 cm. Cook with the oven preheated to 200º for 25 minutes .
Step NO 6
Enjoy French gougères for breakfast, snack, dinner or whenever you like. These cheese fritters are perfect to eat with strawberry jam or butter. And don’t forget that you can find more recipes like this on my blog Sabor en Cristal .
