Ingredients to make Baked Camembert Cheese with puff pastry:
- 1 Camembert cheese (200-250 g)
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 4 tablespoons of Fig jam
How to make Baked Camembert Cheese with Puff Pastry:
Step NO 1
We spread the puff pastry sheet and place in the center two tablespoons of fig jam , spreading them lightly with a spoon and giving it a round shape approximately the size of our cheese. Ideally, use a round dough sheet, since this way the camembert wrapped in puff pastry will be much better. Likewise, you can also prepare your own puff pastry by following the instructions in this recipe.
Tip: If you don’t like fig jam, you can use any other. Red berries, blueberries, cherries, raspberries, strawberries are very good for him … there are a thousand possibilities!
Step NO 2
We put the cheese on top and put two more tablespoons of jam. Then, we fold the puff pastry closing it over the cheese and press the folds well to prevent them from opening during cooking in the oven, but carefully so as not to break the dough.
Step NO 3
We paint the bottom and the edges of a clay pot with a tablespoon of butter. Once this is done, we place the camembert-filled puff pastry inside and place it in the oven preheated to 180 ºC. We bake for approximately 25-30 minutes , and if we observe that the puff pastry is browning a lot, we can cover it with a piece of aluminum foil.
Tip: If you don’t have a clay pot or it’s too big, you can also bake it directly on the baking sheet on parchment paper.
Step NO 4
When it’s ready, we wait about five minutes before eating to avoid burning ourselves with the cheese, I hope you like it!
